Juneau, Alaska Baby!

On May 6, 2016 I embarked on a journey that changed my life forever. Today was a day like no other. Today wasn't just an ordinary day, but a day that would bring on an experience of a lifetime. I literally told myself that today I’m going to choose my own adventure. I went ziplining and it was exhilarating to say the least! I had never experienced anything like it. I was a bit fearful at first because of the altitude. However, I didn't subscribe to fear and was able to conquer a new feat.

Not only did I do something I’d never done before, I was able to create a memory that some people only dream of. I felt extremely grateful to own that experience. I was on cloud nine for the rest of the week. I began to ponder on the truth that life is really meant to be lived. I thought of the notion that some people let things happen or watch things happen. While others make things happen. I made something happen. I was intentional about creating my happiness. I lived in the moment and I certainly celebrated afterwards! This day was the quintessential example of choosing to be happy.

My time in Mexico!

My time in Rivieria Maya, Mexico was absolutely amazing! I had the opportunity to drive a jet ski for the first time. I was totally scared, but after 5 minutes I was having the time of my life. I absolutely love traveling. It truly broadens the mind. I was filled with so much appreciation for what I have and was consumed with gratitude to be able to experience Mexican culture and heritage. From the food, culture, the people, nightlife, hospitality, (of course) shopping, wildlife, resort, and a morning run on the beach I could not be more grateful to spend my birthday in Mexico! If felt so good to be in the midst of the unfamiliar. Although everything wasn't unfamiliar I enjoyed learning about Mexico’s day of the dead, which celebrates deceased family and friends and incorporates prayer along with art, heritage and symbolism.
